Vu Ha
I was a technical director at the AI2 Incubator for nine years, advising early-stage AI startups. My interests span AI, software, technology, and early-stage startup innovation.
I won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1986 and earned my CS degree in Hungary during the Cold War, followed by a PhD in AI from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee on representing and reasoning with personal preferences. I worked at Honeywell Labs and then on the early Bing team at Microsoft. In 2014 I built Semantic Scholar at the Allen Institute for AI as the first engineer and lead architect.
